All students develop research skills in their courses from day one.
Undergraduate Student Research
²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø offers undergraduate students many opportunities to undertake academic research. Students refine their research skills once they have declared a Major course of study, with many departments offering research methodology courses along with senior thesis opportunities.
Other opportunities include working alongside a faculty member to conduct lab research, getting funding to present student research at a conference, making use of excellent library resources, and/or receiving a summer fellowship to tackle an independent research project. Undergraduate research experiences are marked by close mentoring relationships with faculty and programming designed to enhance research skills.

Summer Science Research
Undergraduate research initiatives are central to ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø's approach to science education. All science majors are encouraged to conduct mentored research projects during the summer and/or academic year.
