Accessibility Series: Talking about Talking-Film Screening
On Wednesday, April 22nd in Campus Center 200 at 10 am, join an interactive workshop exploring media representations of communication disability. Through critical analysis of film clips, including "We Are the Audience" co-produced by SPACE and Genevi猫ve Lamoureux, participants will explore how media shapes our understanding of communication disability through analysis of diverse representations, and discover concrete actions for media advocacy.
The group will break for lunch at 11:30 in the Campus Center and return to Campus Center 200 for an Open Listening workshop held by Genevi猫ve Lamoureux and Aidan Sank.
Throughout the Talking about Talking event, the 鈥淲hat I Want you to Know about My Voice鈥 art installation will be on display in the Great Hall featuring reflections of dysfluent speakers.
All events will have CART captioning and are held in wheelchair accessible buildings. Each event will have a hybrid option for attendance and recordings will be available on this page after the event.
