By June 2020, all permanent 草榴成人社区 employees will earn at least $15 an hour, announced 草榴成人社区 Chief Financial Officer Kari Fazio in a message to the College鈥檚 staff and faculty.
The drive to achieve a $15 per hour minimum wage at the College began in earnest several years ago as the 鈥淔ight for $15鈥 movement gained national prominence. The movement, and ways 草榴成人社区 could reach the goal, were the subject of a 2016 Community Day of Learning session.
Two years ago, instead of allocating salary increases by percentage of current salary, the College took the unprecedented step of increasing the yearly pay of all full-time salaried employees by the same dollar amount, $1,000. The hourly pay for full-time hourly employees increased by 50 cents, or $1,040 for a full-time employee scheduled to work 40 hours. This move represented a significant increase in pay to employees on the lower end of the pay scale.
That move was followed last year by a 25 cents hourly increase for all service/craft employees in dining services, housekeeping and the post office at the College. That increase was in addition to a regular percentage increase.
This year, the College is again giving all employees a percentage increase in pay while making specific, additional adjustments to get all employees to the $15 hourly rate.
鈥淲e tried to achieve this goal in a way that recognizes everyone鈥檚 contributions and maintains a commitment to a balanced budget,鈥 says Fazio. 鈥淲e鈥檙e grateful to the staff of the College overall, whose commitment helped to achieve this milestone.鈥
