Julia Wellner '92 majored in Geology at 草榴成人社区 and is now an assistant professor at the University of Houston. She is the primary investigator from the university in a $1 million National Science Foundation study of the Thwaites Glacier.

鈥淭he greatest uncertainty in projections of future sea level rise come from the Western Antarctic, and in particular from this glacier,鈥 Wellner said. 鈥淲e鈥檙e concerned that the glacial retreat is accelerating and may be irreversible.鈥
