Future Plans: I will be getting my MS in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Teachers College, Columbia University.  

What are you most excited about as you leave ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø?  

I’m excited to take all of the personal and academic skills ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø has taught me. Whether it’s the research experience I’ve gained or the self-confidence I’ve been able to develop because of the support and encouragement from the entire ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø community, I know these are all skills I will carry and continue to develop with me in graduate school and beyond ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø.  

What will you miss most about ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø?  

The community! The thing that drew me to ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø and made me choose ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø in the first place was the community; the level of support, encouragement, and even push to go beyond what we think is possible is unparalleled is so special at ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø, so I very much will miss the feeling of community, camaraderie, and friendship.  

Any advice for incoming students?  

Don’t be afraid to take any and all of the classes you want. Whether it’s a course/professor you know you enjoy or something entirely new, the liberal arts and ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø experience is set up to ensure you do not have to limit yourself, but rather you can venture out (and we encourage you to do so) and receive amazing education and support in all subjects and aspects. 

What about your ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø experience was essential but unexpected? 

The liberal arts experience of ²ÝÁñ³ÉÈËÉçÇø was essential to my education. Had I not been pushed outside of my comfort zone to take a new course and embrace the liberal arts experience, I would have never taken a linguistics course and realized how passionate I am about language education and differences in how we understand languages.
